A GPS GIS Systems Source
ArcView 3.3 GIS

ArcGIS 9.2 Software
ESRI's objective with the first ArcView version was to provide query, display and analysis of information prepared by PC ARC/INFO, ArcCAD, work station ARC/INFO or third party data suppliers. ArcView 2.1 went beyond the primary purpose to allow more data manipulation. It includes editing, shape files and powerful geocoding and a many other features. Now ArcGIS 9.2 is even more powerful.

In our opinion, ArcView is destined to become the flagship GIS software on the PC side. Recent studies indicate a shift in GIS platforms from the workstation to PCs and from Unix to Windows NT.

Dick Lewis, RLA GeoSystems, is a Trimble Certified Instructor. See the GPS-GIS Training Courses section in our Home Page for a combination ArcView course with GPS data transfer using Trimble's Pathfinder software.

ArcGIS 9.2 features, digitizing and editing, enhanced thematic mapping, advanced geocoding, CAD reader, image and database theme extensions (SDE), ArcView extension add-ons: Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst (priced extra, not included with ArcGIS 9.2.)
